AI on-model photography

AI on-model photography,
from flat lay to model

We turn photos of your garments laid flat, on a ghost mannequin or on a hanger into on-model images with AI models that stay consistent across the whole collection. Fabric, color, fit and logos are checked by hand against the real garment before delivery. It's the on-model imagery e-commerce and marketplaces need, without casting, studio or shoot days. DigitalX Studio is based in Bergamo, Italy, and works with fashion brands worldwide.

Checks and delivery

Every image compared with the real garment, then exported in the formats you need.

The garment stays
the one you sell

On-model images are where mistakes get expensive: a shifted color, the wrong length or a warped logo turns into a return. That's why every image is compared with the source photos for color, fabric texture, proportions, fit, seams, buttons and logos. Anything the AI doesn't render precisely is fixed by hand or regenerated.

It's the same check we apply to our AI fashion catalogs, where dozens of pieces need to read as one consistent shoot.

An on-model photo should help people pick their size, not just make them dream.

One consistent model
across the collection

The value of an AI model is consistency: the same face, the same body, the same light on every product page. The catalog reads as a single shoot, even when pieces arrive at different times. We explain what a virtual model is and how it's designed in what is a virtual model.

You can also use several models for different audiences or markets, with different builds, ages and features, without multiplying castings.

Our AI models don't reproduce real people without consent, and content is labeled where the EU AI Act transparency rules require it. Read more in AI and image rights for virtual models.

We deliver in the formats of the main channels: for example Zalando's 1:1.44 portrait, where model views on a white background can't be used as the front image. Details in Zalando product images.

Where it takes
extra care

Some garments need extra checks: sheer or very light fabrics, complex prints and patterns that have to line up, and technical fits such as lingerie, swimwear, sportswear or tailoring. We produce them, but with a more thorough test and more revision passes.

When AI on-model isn't the right choice

If fit is your main selling point and customers need to see exactly how a technical garment falls, or if you need a real spokesperson, a traditional shoot is the better call. Often the best answer is a mix: a few real shots for hero pieces and AI for the rest of the collection.

Questions about
AI on-model photography

What photos can you start from?

Flat lay, ghost mannequin or garment on a hanger, as long as color, fabric and details are clearly visible. Close-ups of labels, seams and prints help too.

Does the garment stay true to the real one?

Yes. Color, texture, proportions, fit and logos are compared by hand with the source photos, and anything inaccurate is fixed before delivery.

Can I have the same model across the whole collection?

Yes, that's the main strength of AI on-model: the same model, with the same face and light, on every product page. You can also choose several models for different markets.

How much does AI on-model photography cost?

It starts at €20 per image and drops with volume. A package of 50 e-commerce images costs €1,490, delivered in 5-10 working days.

Is it legal to use AI models in my online store?

Yes, as long as the model doesn't reproduce a real person without consent and you follow the EU AI Act transparency rules for AI-generated content.
