I'll Fly With You

The project

I'll Fly With You is an independent short film exploring powerful and socially relevant themes such as bullying, violence and the emotional challenges of adolescence through compelling cinematic storytelling.

Commissioned by writer Imma Russo, the project was brought to life by a multidisciplinary creative team, with DigitalX Studio contributing to its audiovisual production through advanced generative AI technologies.

The ambition was to transform an emotionally powerful story into an immersive cinematic experience, demonstrating how artificial intelligence can support storytelling and expand the creative possibilities of independent filmmaking.

Our work

We developed a production workflow combining human creativity, cinematic direction and advanced AI tools, covering the different stages of audiovisual creation: from AI-generated characters and scenes to post-production, editing, color grading, voice production, sound design and original music.

One of the project's defining features is its fully AI-generated cast of characters, bringing the story to life without traditional on-screen actors.

The result is a cinematic project that explores new creative and production possibilities while keeping human emotion, artistic vision and social impact at its core.

Behind the scenes: the AI workflow

A short film with an AI-generated cast doesn't come from a single prompt. Here is how we organised the production, stage by stage.

   Story and visual development

   It starts with the story and message Imma Russo wanted to tell: the narrative is broken down into scenes, shots and a visual look that matches the tone of the narrative.

2. 02

   AI characters and environments

   We create the digital characters and the places they inhabit, making sure faces and atmospheres stay recognisable from one scene to the next.

3. 03

   Scene generation and direction

   Every scene is generated and directed as if on set: framing, camera movement, character performance and the emotion of the moment.

4. 04

   Editing and color grading

   Editing shapes the rhythm of the story, while color grading gives the film a distinct cinematic identity.

5. 05

   Voices and dubbing

   Voice production and character dubbing, so the performances reach the audience with the right intensity.

6. 06

   Sound design and original score

   Sound design and an original soundtrack complete the experience and carry the key moments of the story.
