AI ghost mannequin

AI ghost mannequin,
the garment's volume without the body

AI ghost mannequin photography creates the invisible mannequin effect with artificial intelligence: the garment looks three-dimensional, as if worn, with no mannequin and no model. We start from real photos of your garments on a mannequin, on a hanger or laid flat, and rebuild volume, inner neck and symmetry. It suits large collections that need a clean, uniform presentation without the cost of on-model shots for every SKU.

In short

  • Invisible mannequin effect from mannequin, hanger or flat lay photos
  • Inner neck and label rebuilt from a real photo of the inside, never invented
  • Symmetrical shoulders, sleeves and hem, with the right drape for each fabric
  • A uniform series across the collection, exported for your shop and marketplaces
  • From €20 per image, delivered in 5-10 working days

How AI ghost
mannequin works

In the traditional method the garment is shot on a mannequin, then turned inside out to shoot the inside of the neck; in post-production the mannequin is erased and the two photos are merged. It's precise, slow work, repeated for every garment.

With AI the starting point can be simpler: even a hanger shot or a flat lay. The model rebuilds the garment's volume as if it were worn, then we step in where AI tends to go wrong: the inside of the neck, symmetry, fabric weight. The inside detail always comes from a real photo.

The mannequin disappears. The garment, with its seams and its label, stays exactly as it is.

The four points
where the work shows

01

Neck and inner label

The inner neck shot is placed in perspective. Label text and logo are never generated: we use the real ones.

02

Symmetry

Shoulders level, sleeves mirrored, hem straight, placket centred.

03

Fabric and drape

A soft knit doesn't stand up like a structured jacket: volume follows the weight of the fabric.

04

Color and details

Color, weave, seams, buttons and zips compared with the real garment before delivery.

Ghost mannequin, flat lay
or on-model?

FormatWhat it shows wellWhen to choose it
Ghost mannequinShape and volume, neckline, silhouetteBasics, shirts, knitwear, outerwear, large collections with a uniform look
Flat layGraphics, prints, details, coordinated setsSocial, kidswear, accessories, front-print garments
On-modelFit, movement, stylingGarments where the way they fall on the body matters, campaigns, category pages

The best answer is often a mix: ghost mannequin for the whole collection and on-model only for key pieces. For on-model see AI on-model photography, for full collections AI fashion catalogs.

What we need
and where to use it

For each garment we need a front and a back photo (on a mannequin, a hanger or flat), a shot of the inner neck with the label readable, and a color reference. The more uniform the shots, the more consistent the final series.

We deliver on white or neutral backgrounds, in the formats of your shop and marketplaces. Before publishing, always check the views your category requires: for Zalando they're in our guide to Zalando image requirements and on the Zalando product images page. For clipping and cleaning up creases and lint on existing photos see AI retouching.

When the invisible
mannequin isn't enough

AI ghost mannequin is fast and uniform, but it doesn't suit every garment.

When AI ghost mannequin isn't the right choice

For swimwear, lingerie, bodycon dresses and tailoring, fit is the reason to buy and on-model shows it better. Very sheer, lace or tulle garments are hard: the inside of the back shows through the fabric and has to be photographed separately. And if the inner neck shot is missing, we don't invent it: we ask for the photo.

Questions about
AI ghost mannequin

How much does an AI ghost mannequin photo cost?

From €20 per image, with the price falling as volume grows. For full collections we send an estimate within one working day.

Can you make a ghost mannequin image from a hanger shot?

Yes. We rebuild the volume as if the garment were worn. We still need a shot of the inner neck to show the real label.

How do you get the invisible mannequin effect at the neck?

We place a real photo of the inner neck, with label and seams, in perspective and blend it with the garment. We never generate label text or logos.

Ghost mannequin or on-model photos for e-commerce?

Ghost mannequin shows shape and detail uniformly and costs less; on-model shows fit and styling. Many brands use the first for the whole collection and the second for key pieces.

Does AI ghost mannequin work for sheer or lace garments?

With care. The inside of the garment shows through the fabric and has to be photographed separately; in some cases on-model is the better option.
