Why AI
Why choose AI
for kidswear
Photographing children is hard for everyone. You need parents on set, short sessions, permits and releases, and a shoot that stops when the child is tired. Many shots get thrown away, and the whole collection has to be shot on children of different ages to cover every size range.
Then there's privacy. Every photo of a minor published on a website, a marketplace or an ad stays online for years. With AI that problem doesn't exist: the children in the images are invented, with no name, family or identity to protect.
Our rules
How we portray
children in images
When images show children, even invented ones, the rules have to be stricter than usual. These apply to every project, with no exceptions:
01
Natural poses
Children playing, walking, laughing, sitting. No adult or runway poses.
02
Age-appropriate styling
No make-up, grown-up hairstyles or accessories beyond their age.
03
Everyday settings
Park, bedroom, school, a family beach day: places that make sense for a child.
04
No on-model underwear or swimwear
For underwear, close-fitting pyjamas and swimwear we use still life or ghost mannequin, not children.
05
No digital twins of minors
Faces are always invented. We don't recreate real children, even from photos supplied by the brand.
Fidelity
Garments true
size by size
| Element | What we check | Reference we need |
|---|---|---|
| Size and age | Body proportions consistent with the size's age range | Size chart and age ranges |
| Fit | Sleeve and hem lengths as on the real garment | Flat lay or mannequin photo |
| Prints and embroidery | Designs, characters and lettering identical to the original | Print macro or artwork file |
| Color | True color, no brighter than the real garment | Photo in neutral light |
| Fastenings | Buttons, snaps and zips in the right number and position | Close-up of the fastenings |
Going from flat garment to worn image is the same process we use for adults, described in AI on-model photography.
Channels
Kidswear images for
e-commerce and campaigns
We produce e-commerce sets consistent across the whole collection, marketplace images and seasonal campaigns, from back-to-school to the holidays. For Zalando, the rules are in our guide to Zalando image requirements. Images are labelled as AI-generated where required: we cover this in the AI Act and labelling AI content.
Is kidswear part of a wider collection? All our fashion services are on the AI fashion agency page.
When AI isn't the right choice for kidswear
If your brand tells its story through real families, a customer community or candid photos from parents, AI shouldn't take their place: that authenticity is the message. And we don't take on projects that ask for poses, styling or settings that aren't age-appropriate, even if the product would allow it.
FAQ
Questions about
AI kidswear photography
Can you photograph children's clothing without children?
Yes. With AI we generate invented children wearing the brand's real garments. No minor takes part in the shoot and no image of a real child ends up online.
How much does AI kidswear photography cost?
From €20 per image, with the price falling as volume grows. The 50-image e-commerce package is €1,490.
Are the children in AI photos real?
No. Faces are always invented, and we don't create digital twins of real minors, even on request.
How do you avoid inappropriate images of children?
We only use natural poses, age-appropriate styling and everyday settings. For underwear and swimwear we offer still life or ghost mannequin instead of on-model shots.
Does AI respect the proportions of different sizes?
Yes, when it starts from the size chart and age ranges. A size 2Y and a size 10Y garment are shown on bodies consistent with that age.
