AI footwear photography
AI footwear photography,
from sole to campaign
Our AI footwear photography starts from the real shoe and turns it into 6-angle sets, on-foot shots and styled campaigns, without shipping samples to a studio. Sole, stitching, materials and reflections are checked against the real shoe before delivery. DigitalX Studio is based in Bergamo, Italy, and works with footwear brands worldwide.

The problem
Why shoes are
hard to photograph
People buy shoes by looking at details: the shape of the toe, the thickness of the sole, the welt stitching, the grain of the leather. Every style needs the same set of angles, in every color, under the same light. Across a collection of a few dozen styles that's hundreds of shots, and one angle out of line is enough to make the product grid look messy.
With AI we set light, shadow and framing once and apply them to every style. The samples don't travel, and a new colorway doesn't need another studio day.
What we make
The AI shoe images
that actually sell
01
6-angle set
Outside, inside, front, back, top and sole, on a neutral background. See AI packshot photography.
02
Pair and detail
The pair posed together, plus macros of stitching, buckles, laces and tread.
03
On-foot
The shoe on a foot, with believable ankle, trouser hem and stance. See AI on-model photography.
04
Colorways
The same style in every color, built from real shots of each one. See AI color variants.
Fidelity
What we check
on every shoe
| Detail | Typical AI mistake | How we handle it |
|---|---|---|
| Sole and tread | Invented pattern, changing thickness | A real photo of the sole is a required reference |
| Stitching | Stitches that vanish or double | Compared with the real macro, fixed by hand |
| Laces and eyelets | Wrong eyelet count, impossible lacing | Counted on the sample, regenerated if needed |
| Patent and glossy leather | Reflections that don't match the scene | Reflections rebuilt from the scene's light |
| Logos and markings | Logo rewritten or warped | Logo applied from the original file |
Why this check isn't optional is explained in product fidelity in AI images.
Channels
Footwear images for
site, marketplaces and ads
The core product-page set is the same for your site and for marketplaces; formats, background and image order change. We deliver every shot in the formats each channel asks for. For Zalando, the rules are in our guide to Zalando image requirements and on the Zalando product images page.
Are shoes part of a wider fashion project? Campaign, lookbook and on-model images can share one creative direction: see our AI fashion agency page.
When AI isn't the right choice for shoes
If you sell technical footwear where exact measurements matter, such as drop, heel height or midsole thickness, the photo has to document the product, not interpret it: a real detail shot stays the reference. And if you have no photos of the style at all, you first need a sample to shoot, even on a phone.
FAQ
Questions about
AI footwear photography
How much does AI shoe photography cost?
From €20 per image, with the price falling as volume grows. The 50-image e-commerce package is €1,490, for example 8 styles with a 6-angle set plus a few details.
Which angles do e-commerce shoe photos need?
The most common set is 6 views: outside, inside, front, back, top and sole. We add the pair, details and on-foot shots depending on the channel.
Can AI get soles and stitching right?
Not always on the first try. That's why we ask for a real photo of the sole and the details and compare every image with the real shoe, fixing by hand whatever doesn't match.
Can you make on-foot shoe photos without a model?
Yes. We generate foot, ankle and stance with AI and keep the shoe true to the real style. The models are invented people, not real ones.
What do you need to get started?
Photos of the style from several sides, the sole, the main details and the logo file. Shots taken in-house with even light are enough.
